KB Home's New 30-Home Development In St. Pete

KB Home broke ground on a new single-family home development in St. Petersburg in May.

Lakewood Shores, a 10-acre project located off of 31st Street South, had a grand opening in early June and, due to limited land availability, is said to be the largest single-family development project in St. Pete in the past 15 years.

Spanning between 50th Avenue South and Maximo Elementary School, the project will offer built-to-order 1- and 2-story homes with 3 to 6 bedrooms, 2 to 3 bathrooms and 2-car garages, ranging in square footage from 1,684 to 2,964 square feet. Homes are priced between approximately $163,000 and $206,000.

The 30-home development takes up a portion of the 2 percent of vacant land currently available for development in St. Pete. KB Home bought the property from Apple Homes, a 50-year-old custom home builder in the Tampa Bay area, which is located just minutes from St. Pete attractions such as beaches and marinas, Tropicana Field, Fort De Soto Park, downtown St. Petersburg, The Pier and Baywalk.

"There is a very, very limited supply of new homes and land for new homes in St Pete," says George Glance, president of KB Home's Central Florida division. "Buyers will be getting a tremendous house in a very desirable area."

KB Home will focus on making the homes as energy-efficient as possible and will allow buyers to design their dream homes with personalized features and decor. Lakewood Shores homeowners will be offered a 10-year limited warranty, as well as exemption from Community Development District (CCD) fees.
