Photo Slideshow: Berkeley Prep, Tampa

How do you get exceptional middle- and high school students interested in pursuing a career in medicine? That’s the challenge presented in today’s competitive marketplace where the best and the brightest are a hot commodity. Dr. Lennox Hoyte, a surgeon, visits Tampa Bay area schools to talk about his work in hopes of convincing a few to follow in his footsteps.

Students at Berkeley Prep in Tampa get a chance to touch and see for themselves the intricacies of robotics as Surgeon Lennox Hoyte demonstrates what it takes to work in today’s healthcare environment.

The fifth-graders through seniors already excel in math and science at Berkeley Prep and may one day be interested in pursuing careers in medicine.

When not visiting local private and public schools, Hoyte, a professor at USF Health, teaches medical school students and surgeons in the latest procedures at the DaVinci Center for Computer Assisted Surgery.
