USAmeriBank Buys Westshore Building, 25 Jobs

USAmeriBank, headquartered in Clearwater, recently purchased the former Continental Jewelry building in the Westshore neighborhood of Tampa and plans to hire 25 new employees. The 8,000-square-foot building at 405 N. West Shore Blvd. will become home to the bank’s 11th branch.

“We will be hiring professionals in underwriting and portfolio management, as well as tellers and an assistant manager at our Westshore office,” says Gene Evans, senior VP and retail banking administrator for USAmeriBank. “We also have some positions open at our operations center, which is located in the Airport Business Center in Clearwater. We are looking to fill all of these positions as soon as possible.”

USAmeriBank, which was founded in 2007, purchased Alabama’s Aliant Bank at the end of 2011. With 225 employees in Florida, the bank operates 10 branches in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. The bank has plans to open more branches and continue its growth and expansion in the years to come. Within its five years of existence, the bank has grown to $2.24 billion in assets.

Evans attributes the bank’s success to its excellent customer service.

“Our growth in Pinellas and Hillsborough has been based on our ability to build a bank around people,” Evans says. “Our customers are key, and it is important that we offer a high level of personalized service and attention to our customers.”

Open positions are listed on the bank's website. Evans says that due to the competitive financial market in the Tampa Bay region, those applying should have significant banking experience.
