New Hair Salon Blows Into South Tampa

A new salon has opened in Tampa, but you won't find women with foil in their hair getting highlights, or even a pair of scissors.

Blow Bar offers "blowout styles" including straight, curly and princess. Their motto is "No cuts, no color. Wash. Blow. Go!" Leslie Betts, the owner of Blow Bar wanted to open a salon that catered to the busy mom or businesswoman like herself. She wanted a place to get her hair styled at the spur of the moment and didn't want to have to schedule weeks in advance with her stylist, so she decided to open a place that did just that.

"We specialize in blowouts and updos," says Jen Eggleston of Blow Bar. "We are affordable at $35 for a wash and blowout versus $55 at traditional salons, and we take walk-ins."

The salon caters to women looking for that "just came from the hairdresser" look without the appointment and the expense of a full-service shop. While Blow Bar is known for its "blowouts" other services are offered.

"We offer the versa-spa spray tan, manicures and makeup application by appointment," Eggleston says. "We have a party room and the ability to offer a wide range of services for parties. A full Blow Bar party includes services, set-up and food catering. It all depends on what someone is looking for and what their budget is."

Stylists and technicians interested in working in an innovative salon may want to look into the employment opportunities at Blow Bar. Currently the new salon is hiring experienced stylists and nail technicians.

Blow Bar is at 310 S. Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa.
