Franchise Showcase In St. Pete Features 110 Businesses

A Franchise and Business Expo will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, in St. Petersburg to educate those who are interested in being a business owner. The event sponsored by Franchise Source Brands International will feature over 110 franchise businesses and workshops will be available to inform attendees on the nuts and bolts of franchising.

Jim White, FSBI regional developer, explains the importance of educating oneself before making the decision to open a business.

"You need to know what you want the business to give you both in your lifestyle and income," White says. "You can purchase a franchise that will give you the income you want to make, but after two or three years, if it doesn't give you the lifestyle you want, you are going to be miserable."

To ensure that potential business owners find a franchise that is right for them, White says, FSBI assigns each attendee who registers before the event a business coach to navigate them through the showcase.

"We have 40 coaches working with us for the event who will help attendees find the right workshops for them," says White. "Workshops will be going on all day during the showcase; attendees can go back and forth between the workshop and the models."

The Franchise and Business Expo will take place at the St. Petersburg Marriott Clearwater, 12600 Roosevelt Blvd. in St. Petersburg. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 4, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 5. The event is free to attend, however, all attendees must register online prior to the expo.
