Carolina Manufacturer Moves To Bradenton, 80 Jobs

Ipe Clip Fastener, a manufacturer of deck fasteners and deck-building tools and accessories, has relocated to Bradenton from South Carolina. The company plans to create 80 local jobs over the next five years. Ipe Clip Fastener moved its operations to Manatee after receiving performance-based incentives from the county.

"We were operating out of South Carolina and we were expanding, developing a lot of new products, which required more staff,” says Doug Reid, creative director of Ipe Clip Fastener. "We were running out of room so in order to accommodate more employees and machinery, we needed to look elsewhere. We do a lot of international business and being close to ports for shipping was another benefit of moving to the Manatee area. Our products get shipped via cargo and being by ports will help us grow our international business.”

The company, which was founded in 2000, currently has approximately 50 employees. Company executives plan to more than double that headcount by 2016.

"We plan to hire approximately 80 people,” Reid says. “The job positions will range from management to sales and marketing to machine operators.”

Ipe Clip Fastener recently added siding fasteners, a new product to its line, and will be manufacturing the new fasteners at its 70,000-square-foot headquarters at 2111 58th Ave. East in Bradenton.

Reid says the hunt for potential employees is already on.

"We are looking for quality people who get our vision of where we are going and want to be a part of it. ”
