IT Authorities: Tampa Firm Adds Jobs, Cloud Computing

IT Authorities, a Tampa-based cloud computing services company, is experiencing tremendous growth and is looking to increase its staff in 2011.

According to Co-CEO Jason Caras, the company has already done quite a bit of hiring since early January, and plans to continue throughout the year. "We expect to have between 60-70 employees by December 2011," Caras says.

The company started in 2006 with 4 people and was primarily a managed services provider. In 2010, IT Authorities decided to focus on cloud computing services, and that decision seems to have paid off. "We built our own high-end private cloud solution as opposed to reselling, which is what many other companies do,'' Caras says. "Since that decision, things have taken off."

IT Authorities has a presence internationally, with clients in countries, such as Malaysia, Australia and the United Kingdom. "All of the jobs we are hiring for are domestic, we do not outsource to different countries," Caras says. "We have employees placed in different countries temporarily to complete projects."

The positions that IT Authorities is looking to fill are in system engineering. "We have specialized teams, like incident response and problem resolution, all of which have open positions we are looking to fill," says Caras. "Due to the cloud computing and international work, there are opportunities on our professional services team as well, which does implementation and design.

The company has received many awards for its growth, and potential employees might be interested to know that IT Authorities was ranked in 2009 as the #1 Best Small Company to Work For in Florida by Florida Trend Magazine. "People want to work for us," Caras says. "We truly are looking for diamonds in the rough, and it takes a certain type of person to fill a position in our company."
