Westafer had success through word of mouth and referrals and he was then able to hire on another part-time designer and a developer.

By the end of 2008, Roger West had a fulltime creative director, hired on Kurpe and increased the staff generally.

Profits also went up by 60 percent from July 2007 to July 2008.

According to Kurpe, the following year Roger West increased the profit with about the same amount as the year before but did not increase the staff.

The numbers are not in for the current year, but Roger West is projected to have grown 60 percent again.

The company has been able to keep growing from year to year despite rough economic times because "we strive to be different," Kurpe says.
