Tampa Bay gets social and we can
Facebook,
YouTube and
tweet about it during the
Social Fresh Conference.
Based out of Charlotte, N.C., Social Fresh is a social media event planning and training company that is bringing its conference to Tampa Bay. Founded by Jason Keath, a social media consultant, Social Fresh is made up of day-long conferences packed with information from industry professionals and guest panelists.
"My goal with Social Fresh was to bring big event speakers to underserved markets that typically wouldn't have access to them," says Keath."I was initially approached by Carl Vervisch and Kate Whatley of
Social Forces to bring Social Fresh to Tampa."
Social Fresh is presenting in Charlotte, Nashville, Portland and St. Louis. So why Tampa? According to Social Fresh, social media is strong in Florida and our agencies, brands and vendors stand out nationally thanks to top creative professionals and innovators in the social media industry. Social Fresh provides a list of their
Top 10 Social Media Companies in Florida which includes:
22Squared,
Voce Communications and
Outback Steakhouse (which makes
good use of social media).
"Social media is just a more genuine, fun way to market," says Keath. You're connecting real people online and not just putting up a billboard or commercial, there's no interactive aspect to traditional media. Social media is all interaction and it's just a more genuine experience."
New to the conference schedule is a "Social Media in the Restaurant Industry" panel since many national chain restaurants are headquartered in the Tampa/Orlando area.
The
conference will be Monday, Feb. 8, from 7 am to 5 pm (plus/minus the optional happy hour) at the
Doubletree Hotel Tampa Westshore. Florida
speakers include: Jeremy Hilton,
Mindcomet; Jason Breed,
Neighborhood America; Pete Scott,
IZEA; Alex de Carvalho,
StartPR;
Elissa Plumley,
Ballywho; Lori Gustafson,
Darden; Tom Hoof,
Tampa Bay Rays; and Josh Hallet,
Voce Communications.
