USF St. Pete Adds Three New MBA Programs

The College of Business at the University of South Florida's St. Petersburg campus has launched three new master's degree programs through which students may earn an online MBA, a Global MBA or an MBA through a one-year program.

According to Maling Ebrahimpour, dean of the College of Business at USF St. Petersburg, the programs are designed to meet the needs of busy professionals and business students who need flexible schedules and require new skills.  "These courses are designed to give students the competitive advantage they need to advance their careers in an ever-changing marketplace," says Ebrahimpourt.

The Global MBA is a four-semester program that began in August 2010 and focuses on international business.

"One of our areas of focus for research and teaching has been globalization, and we wanted to bring that experience to the students," says Alison Watkins, associate dean of Graduate and Certificate Programs. "We have faculty with research interests in Southeast Asia and Latin America, which are two growing areas. Students in the program participate in at least one global experience. This fall they are going to Guatemala and take elective courses in international business topics."

For students who have less time to spend earning their MBA, the college offers a 12-month program. Through its unique combination of lecture, discussion, analysis and group projects, students complete 36 credit hours in management, marketing, economics finance, corporate social responsibility and international business.

And students who do not have the time or resources to attend classes in person can enroll in the college's online MBA program, which requires its students to take two online classes a semester, but can do so online.
