The Tampa Bay region has attracted some high caliber events in recent years, including the 2009 Super Bowl.
This year, Tampa's community and economic leaders are urging the community to support its bid to bring to town the 2018 or 2022 FIFA World Cup, a prestigious international soccer tournament.
Tampa is one of 17 cities interested in hosting the U.S. portion of this major sporting event.
