Freedom Riders: St. Pete Prof's Book Inspires TV Doc

USF history Professor Ray Arsenault's book, "Freedom Riders: 1961 and the Struggle for Racial Justice," was the inspiration behind a critically acclaimed PBS documentary.

The film screened at Sundance and grabbed the attention of Oprah Winfrey, who is currently in the process of putting together an episode of her talk show, with help from Arsenault, dedicated to the Freedom Riders.
