USF Psychologist Expands OCD Pilot Study

University of South Florida psychologist Erich Storch was recently awarded a $1.14 million grant by the National Institute of Mental Health to expand his pilot study on obsessive compulsive disorder.

The study couples cognitive-behavioral therapy with treatment of the drug Seromycin, administered an hour before therapy begins.

Storch intends to enroll 150 children, half of them from the Tampa Bay area, between the ages of 7 and 17, according to The Tampa Tribune.
