BayCare Health System recently expanded their occupancy at Colonial Center Bayside II in Clearwater.
Built in 1997 and renovated in 2007, the long-time tenant will increase its space by a little more than 13,000 square feet, totaling a 60,749-square-foot-space located at 17755-17757 U.S. Highway 19 N., just south of Belleair Road in Clearwater.
"BayCare made the decision to expand as a result of internal expansion and consolidation of senior management," says Clay Wommack, an associate at CB Richard Ellis who negotiated the lease on behalf of the owner of the property, DRA Advisors/Colonial Properties Trust. "It's my understanding that additional senior managers will be hired for this site in addition to bringing current employees from other facilities that now sit in Pinellas."
BayCare will begin its occupancy of the expanded space in August, with funds coming from the landlord of the building and relocation costs provided by BayCare. The facility will mainly house BayCare Health Alliance's senior and mid-level management.
"BayCare continues to be one o the most premier providers of medical services for the Tampa Bay area and this expansion mostly represents internal streamlining of management," says Wommack. "BayCare's commitment to expand certainly gives credence that the ownership of this building is professionally owned and managed, as well as fiscally sound. It also sheds light that BayCare realizes that the U.S. 19 major improvements, though somewhat of an inconvenience now, will do nothing but improve access and visibility to this building long term."
