Downtown St. Petersburg has lured the corporate headquarters for an Amsterdam company that provides support services for professionals and the growing number of independent contractors.
BOTH Holdings Inc., which stands for Back Of The House, has staff in St. Petersburg and Amsterdam, says it will make St. Petersburg the location for its new corporate headquarters and expects to create 100 new jobs.
BOTH offers resources and support services for independent professionals, including a hosted IT infrastructure and integration of online banking billing, bookkeeping and collections services; core health benefits; a unique solo 401(k) retirement plan; technical support; and a personal advisor serving as a single point-of-contact for all back office and advisory functions. It is estimated that more than 30 million U.S. workers are independent contractors in need of back-office support.
St. Petersburg, Pinellas County and the state of Florida partnered to compete for the BOTH headquarters against bids from other states, including Georgia and South Carolina.
BOTH cited Florida's business-friendly climate, Pinellas' strong industry clusters, St. Petersburg's vibrant downtown and the regional workforce as factors in their decision.
