SGI Plans Move To Sarasota, Adding 30 Jobs

A business that acts as a college for contractors in areas such as plumbing, heating, air conditioning, roofing and electrical services, is moving its headquarters from St. Louis to Sarasota.

Success Group International, a division of Clockwork Home Services Inc., plans to fill about 30 positions when it moves to Sarasota in the next six months. Success Group helps independent contractor owners in the home services industry.

"This brings good, knowledge-driven jobs to Sarasota," says Kathy Baylis, president and chief executive officer of the Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County, which provided performance-based incentives. The new positions will pay 150 percent of the average wage in Sarasota.

SGI will also provide a boost for hotels, restaurants and other businesses in the local economy when it trains its member customers in Sarasota.

SGI is moving to Sarasota to be closer to its parent company, Clockwork Home, which is based in downtown Sarasota. The two companies will share space in the Clockwork offices, but SGI will also lease additional office space off Interstate 75.

The company also liked Sarasota because it has an educated, professional workforce, said Brad Barnett, president of SGI. The company plans a series of job fairs in the first quarter.
