Endo-Therapeutics, a Clearwater firm that makes thin, flexible tubes with cameras that doctors use to examine intestinal tracts, recently won a $27,000 state grant to continue training its expanding workforce.
Endo-Therapeutics received an Incumbent Worker Training grant from the state to keep its workforce competitive globally.
The manufacturer has grown from five employees in Safety Habor in 1992 to more than 80 in Clearwater today, doubling its staff in the past five years.
Endo-Therapeutics has also more than tripled its facility space from 5,000 square feet to more than 17,000 square feet and plans to add more office and manufacturing space in the future.
The company continues to expect growth in the future as the U.S. population ages and the Baby Boomer generation seeks to maintain its health.
Endo-Therapeutics sells its medical products through private-label companies and distributors throughout the world. It also works with inventors and entrepreneurs to develop new medical diagnostic products.
The company thrives in Clearwater because of local suppliers, a skilled workforce, support for its industry and the quality of life in the Tampa Bay region.
"Pinellas County is a great fit for our company," says Pete Sanchirico, the company president.
