Video story: Wat Temple In Tampa Serves Up A Taste of Thailand

The sweet scents of favorite Thai dishes lure the uninitiated as well as the frequent traveler to Wat Mongkolratanaram, a Thai food market open on Sunday mornings on the Palm River in east Tampa.

The popular brunch spot next to a Buddhist Temple, situated just off U.S. 41, a a half-mile south of the Lee Roy Selmon Crosstown Expressway and State Road 60, also offers Thai crafts, clothing, exotic flowers and folk music.

Playgrounds for children and picnic tables for families provide a peaceful outdoor setting to eat to your heart's content, catch up with friends or simply to wile away time.

Food items sell for $1 to $5 each; the taste of Thai culture is free. Vendors donate proceeds to support the Temple.
