Ybor City's world famous 1886 cigar factory was recently purchased for $7 million by the Church of Scientology. The three-building complex will be converted into a place for gatherings and Sunday services, as well as space for offices.
The placement of a church in Ybor City could possibly result in the denial of liquor licenses for future businesses opening within 1,000 feet of the building.
