Tampa Skyscraper Goes Green

The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that Downtown Tampa's tallest office building has earned a green certification after a year of green renovations.

At 42 stories, the Bank of America building at 100 North Tampa St. is a defining characteristic of the Tampa skyline. Now, as the city's second green-certified office building, it could also be a symbol of Tampa's movement toward a sustainable future.

The renovation project included retrofitting plumbing fixtures and beefing up recycling efforts. The result? A two million gallon reduction in water consumption and recycling of nearly three quarters of the building's trash output.
