USF Researcher Finds Chlorophyll-Producing Slug

Wired.com reports that a USF professor recently discovered that the green sea slug has plant-like tendencies – at least the ability to make chlorophyll, the green substance in plants that allows it them to make their own energy from sunlight.

Sidney K. Pierce and his team discovered that the green sea slug does not merely take chlorophyll from other sources, but it is able to produce its own after its first chloroplast meal.
