Regional food bank Feeding Tampa Bay has started construction on a nearly 220,000-square-foot new facility to grow its warehouse capacity and its community impact.

Following a renovation project by real estate developer Darryl Shaw, Tempus Projects and a slew of local organizations, galleries and artists are turning the Ybor City Kress Building into an artistic hub. 

The sixth annual Synapse Summit headlines Tampa Bay Innovation Week on February 14th with a Valentine's Day theme.

The City of Tampa's first public art sound installation, "Ybor Speaks," tells the story of the city's historic neighborhood and the people who lived and worked there from the 1890s through the 1980s.

The City of Tampa is collaborating with Bloomberg Associates and the National Association of City Transportation Officials to launch innovative "quick build" mobility projects that improve safety and accessibility for cyclists and pedestrians quickly and on a limited budget. 

Tampa Bay's February arts scene includes painter Stephanie Ong's exhibit  "Scaffolding" in Tampa, "The Stories They Tell: Indigenous Art and the Photography of Edward S. Curtis" at The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art, an exhibit of the work of contemporary Black artists at the St. Petersburg Warehouse Arts District and much more.  

Danny Gallagher, the recycling coordinator for Hillsborough County, was inspired to protect the environment in the fourth grade. Today, at 27, he oversees a program recycling 10 million tons a month.
